Position Overview & Specifications
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational leader to this newly created role, with the vision to lead the delivery of Universityβs strategic change portfolio and Programme Management Offices.
As a member of the universityβs Leadership Team, the Director of Programme Management Office and Strategic Change will work in partnership with senior leaders and key stakeholders across the institution to ensure the delivery of the strategic change programme that underpins delivery of the Universityβs strategic plan. The Director will be the architect of change for the University, leading the evolution of the Programme Management Office (PMO) to develop a sustainable, robust governance framework to support the delivery of the Universityβs strategic programmes and other large-scale projects such as the Academic Growth Programme, Capital Investment Masterplan, Digital Futures, an annual Integrated Planning round and other key transformational objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of creating and leading a strategic change portfolio, associated programmes and change function, including a Programme Management Office (PMO) to develop the capability to deliver programmes and projects in line with strategy. To develop an environment of continuous improvement, proactively reviewing performance over time in the strategic planning and change environment across the institution and compare it to best practice in the sector, identifying areas of improvement in structure, practices, policies and technology. This should be complemented by strong leadership skills with the ability to create a culture of excellence, enhancement, collaboration, and respect, underpinned by strongly held values. Candidates should possess a degree and/or significant high-level professional experience.
